Balanced diet for normal health person

Types and amount of food that promote health and well being is known as Balanced diet.
An optimal diet includes sufficient water, adequate calories, provides a sale adequate basal maintenance amount. Calories requirement varies according to activity level and body height and weight. An average person needs 2000-3000 Kcal/day. Balanced diet should contain adequate amount of carbohydrate, protein and fat along with minerals and vitamins.

In average middle class diet approximately 50-60 % of calories come from carbohydrates with increase in complex carbohydrate, at least 12-15% of total calories should be ingested as protein and 25-30% should be from fat.
